♥ MADAME
For the past two years I have had a blog on our Shop website shopatmaisonb.com. As anyone who follows it will know, it started out as a supplement to the main website, showcasing the designers we represented and giving our customers a reason to re-visit the site as it would be regularly changing.
As time went on it became more of a diary of my doings, much less about fashion and more about shining a light on anything I was enthusiastic about or wanted to share or recommend to our readers. The world of blogging was a new concept to me and as I read more people’s blogs (mainly women, another thing that fascinated me), I grew fascinated by this solitary, discursive medium and wanted somehow to explore it more..
So when Liza Angst suggested a collaboration I jumped at the chance to create more of a blogging community – a Blogzine I suppose – in which I could invite people to contribute and open up discussion…one of the other great things about blogging I think is that comments are welcome.
As with the shop blog, I will be the main contributor – just try and stop me! – and my guests will be contributing on various topics: History, politics, horticulture, fitness, beauty, lifestyle, food, art, self-help and other curiosities. I’m sure I will allude to fashion at times, however, I think there are enough people writing fantastic fashion blogs (see Links), much more qualified to do so than me. So this is more like a group of your favourite people sitting around a dinner table, where subjects will veer from lipgloss to politics….and of course we welcome comments from anyone else who wants to join in!
So, this is early days. Liza is the designer and I am the editor. We will be tweaking the site in the next few weeks so if you join us early, please bear with us while we find our feet….
